The Just Because Foundation is an incorporated, non-profit, Paediatric Cancer Support Organization in Trinidad & Tobago established by Noel and Chevaughn Joseph who, after a tenacious two-year battle, lost their 5 1/2 year old son Jabez “JB” Joseph to Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare form of childhood cancer.
Because having a child with cancer can be stressful and demanding, we provide a listening ear to each family member throughout the child’s illness. We spend time with the sick child in hospital so parents can take a break or attend to urgent personal or family matters. We also provide counseling for the entire family as well as bereavement support.. Additionally, we supply literature on the various forms of treatment; explaining what to expect during and after treatment, possible side effects, and outline the methods of caring for the child.
What makes us unique is that we are the only facility of its kind in the English-speaking Caribbean. This unique service is provided at absolutely no cost to the affected families. The cornerstone of our organization is to offer hope, support and compassion as we provide care for children with cancer.

Family Care Services
One of a Kind Services
We transport the children and parents to and from treatment centres. We also provide support for the siblings of the sick child because they often fall into the shadows because the focus often shifts away from them to the child with cancer. One of the ways we do this is by taking the sick child's siblings out for the day so they can enjoy some time away from the pressures of home and hospital

Hope Support Compassion
The Just Because Foundation provides emotional, practical and social support for families of children with cancer. We offer short term housing for families who travel from remote areas in Trinidad and Tobago and from other Caribbean countries with their child for chemotherapy or radiation treatment in Trinidad.
